The depiction determines the record requirements
18 U.S.C. 2257 and 2257A set age-verification and record-keeping requirements for certain visual depictions involving actual performers. When applicable, the records cover identification, dates of birth, performer names and aliases, as well as the maintenance and location of those records.
The relevant obligations depend on what a depiction shows and how it was produced. An AI label does not establish a blanket exemption for the resulting material.
