Decide on appearance without writing the whole personality
The visual directions include realistic, anime, fantasy, cartoon and furry. Pick the treatment you want to see. A fantasy costume does not require an extravagant speaking style, and a cartoon appearance does not prevent a serious conversation.
Female, Male and Futa are the creator's category options. Use Female for a girlfriend character or Male for a boyfriend, then make the available appearance and personality choices. The directory's Groups filter is for browsing; it is not another creator category.
Translate a character idea into a few deliberate choices
Give each choice a job. Appearance establishes recognizable details, personality describes the behavior you are asking for, and voice preferences concern sound. Keep the brief specific enough to use without packing in traits that pull in opposite directions.
- Choose a category and visual style for a clearly adult fictional character.
- Set a few defining appearance preferences, such as hairstyle and clothing direction.
- Select personality traits that work together; Iris's sociability and dry humor give her a coherent starting tone.
- Choose an available voice preference; do not assume it enables live calls or spoken audio in generated videos.
- Check the completed choices and any account or access requirement before finishing creation.
Begin with a decision the character cares about
Ask Iris to help choose costumes for an imaginary outdoor play. Give her a practical constraint, such as an outfit needing to work in changing weather, and invite her opinion. The situation draws on her interests while leaving you free to agree, challenge the idea or suggest something else.
Read the response for the tone you wanted. If the humor feels too sharp, ask for a gentler approach; if there is too much description, request more dialogue. Make a clear adjustment and see how the conversation develops. Repeat a boundary when a reply overlooks it.
Common questions
Which looks can I choose in DarLink's character creator?
Available visual styles include realistic, anime, fantasy, cartoon and furry. They set the artistic direction; use the personality choices and brief to establish interests, behavior and tone.
Can my character have a personality as well as a custom look?
Yes. DarLink includes personality customization alongside appearance. Describe a few compatible qualities, then give the first conversation a situation in which those qualities can show.
Can I create a male companion in DarLink?
Yes. Select Male rather than Female or Futa, then use the available appearance, personality and voice preferences. Keep the companion fictional and adult, and describe the kind of interaction you want.
Do I need a detailed biography to get started?
No. Begin with a clearly adult character, a role or interest and a preferred way of speaking. Add background as it becomes relevant instead of trying to settle an entire life before the first message.
How do I introduce a character's interests in the first chat?
Ask about a choice connected to those interests. For the fictional costume designer, discuss an outfit for a play and explain the setting. That gives the character something to respond to without prescribing both sides of the conversation.
Is affection from an AI girlfriend the same as a person's feelings?
No. Affectionate replies are part of simulated AI conversation. Enjoy the fictional character without treating agreement or romantic language as evidence of a human partner's emotions.
Can I use my character as an interactive 3D avatar?
A realistic portrait describes a visual style, not an interactive 3D model. If you need to rotate an avatar or use it in a 3D environment, ask support about the formats and controls available before choosing a plan for that purpose.
